14 屆未來 AI 人才先修班 I am AI Ready: Hour of Code Challenge in Taiwan
Hour of Code Challenge in Taiwan is a collaborative event hosted by M&O and CELA which is also the part of WW M&O Hour of Code Challenge initiative. The purpose is to foster digital literacy for all youth, through Hour of Code events.
Just few days after the releasing of AI R&D Center in Taiwan, Microsoft AI is becoming a blockbuster in college. More than 500 college students enrolled in this event within a week. This event also demonstrate the commitment of AI talent development from Microsoft which we can sense the importance from the great news exposure and the highlight.
Students came to the event, they learned、they experienced、they talked to Microsoft employees and then they are AI ready. Another important thing is that employees who were dedicate their time to this event are also become our AI evangelists.
Train the Trainer
Hour of Code challenge as a TTT (Train the Trainer) event, helped students learned basic coding skills while playing and became the teacher of Minecraft
After today’s event, they can teach other people code: their friends, siblings, neighbors, even parents and grandparents.
“I am AI Ready”
In addition to teaching Minecraft, we invited speakers to share AI knowledge and Microsoft latest technology with students.
- Vincent Shih
General Manager of Corporate, External, and Legal Affairs, highlighted the importance to equip the youth to be future ready through digital skills.
- Jason Tsao
Marketing and Operations Lead, shared the applications of AI in various industry. Jason said, AI should not replace human, AI should enable human, hence, more creativity is needed to make it happen.
- Ching Chen
Microsoft Senior Tech evangelist, demonstrated Microsoft API application and introduced basic concept of machine learning.
