Description

A prolific novelist and filmmaker, Amos Kollek found international success with feature films such as Worlds Apart, Goodbye New York, Forever Lulu (Hanna Schygulla, Alec Baldwin, Deborah Harry), Double Edge (with Faye Dunaway), Sue (Winner International Press Award -- Berlin), and Fast Food, Fast Women (nominated for the Palm D'Or, Cannes 2000.) However, after the failure of his film Happy End starring Audrey Tautou, the award-winning director took a penetrating look at the addiction that is filmmaking. Over 7 years, Kolleck turned the camera on himself, chronicling his family from 2004 to the present, especially his strained relationship with his father, the mythical mayor of Jerusalem for 28 years. Intertwined with Amos's story is the story of Robin Remias, a drug-addicted NY prostitute who Amos meets on his quest to fund his next film. Both struggle with their highs and lows trying to find some harmony to help them proceed to the future. Moving in between Israel and New York, the film, says Kollek, is about me, trying to find myself and get back on my feet.
