The Hero

Sam Elliott plays Lee Hayden, an aging Western movie star whose acting glory days are long gone. Waiting for roles that will never come, the fading icon spends his time smoking weed and reminiscing with his former co-star, Jeremy (Nick Offerman), until an unexpected cancer diagnosis prompts him to examine what is truly important in life. As he tries to repair his relationship with his estranged daughter, Lucy (Krysten Ritter), Lee finds an unusual chemistry with a young stand-up comic, Charlotte (Laura Prepon), and begins to contemplate his past and the legacy he will leave behind.
