Microsoft Surface Pro may be the best tablet option for consumers seeking a Windows 8 touch-screen device, it has been claimed.
Writing for CNET, reviewers Dan Ackerman and Scott Stein said there is "a lot to like" about this version of Microsoft's flagship mobile device.
"While the Surface Pro isn't the first Windows 8 tablet, it may well be the best one to date, at least in terms of design," the writers stated.
They noted that the magic here is "in the details".
Mr Ackerman and Mr Stein pointed to the "ingenious" detachable keyboard cover and the included pressure-sensitive stylus.
In their view, these features go a long way towards setting the Surface Pro apart from the other laptops, tablets, and hybrids currently available on the market.
"If I were buying a high-end Windows 8 tablet, I'd go with the Microsoft Surface Pro," Mr Stein stated.
"Its compact form and excellent little Type Cover give it a low profile."
Agreeing, Mr Ackerman said Surface Pro "definitely stands out" among the Core i5//i7 Windows 8 models available.
