  • Outlook for Mac supports personal, work, and school accounts, including Outlook.com and Microsoft 365 accounts. We also support other email accounts such as Gmail, Yahoo!, POP, and IMAP.

  • Both free and premium users will get core Outlook features. All Microsoft 365 subscribers will have an ad-free experience, more cloud storage, and access to other Microsoft 365 desktop apps (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Free Outlook.com users can use the free web versions of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Customers with a paid Microsoft 365 subscription will also have access to OneDrive along with some premium features. Experiences for Microsoft 365 for Business and education subscribers may vary by plan.

  • Outlook for Mac will provide a free, ad-supported version for users of free email services such as Outlook.com, Hotmail, Gmail, and Yahoo! without a Microsoft 365 subscription. A Microsoft 365 Personal or Family subscription is available to remove any advertising.

    You won’t see ads on a work or school account.

  • You’ll be asked to activate your Office license, which will enable access to all the Office apps that come with your license, including ad-free Outlook for Mac.

  • You can still use Outlook for Mac to manage your other personal or work email accounts. If you don’t have a Microsoft 365 subscription, you’ll see ads in your inbox clearly marked with an ad label to distinguish them from other emails.
