Microsoft Visual Studio Tools for Applications lets you add and run VSTA customizations in applications that are integrated with VSTA. VSTA 2017 has two primary modes of operation: with a supported version of Visual Studio installed and standalone. In standalone mode, VSTA provides the application with the means to load, compile, and run end-user customizations. With a supported version of Visual Studio installed on your machine, VSTA extends that functionality with the means to edit and debug those customizations.
This version contains a fix for CVE-2025-29803. Please see https://msrc.microsoft.com/update-guide/vulnerability/CVE-2025-29803 for more information.
This version will also be the final update of VSTA 2017. To remained supported, please update to VSTA 2019 or VSTA 2022 for 64-bit applications.
