Here’s how you can use OneNote to plan a bachelorette party.

Create a new notebook

Keep your digital notebook organized by creating a new OneNote notebook just for the bachelorette party. To create a new notebook:

  • Open OneNote.
  • Click the Notebook icon.
  • Select Add Notebook.
  • From here, you can choose where you want to store your notebook. Storing it in OneDrive will ensure that it’s always backed up.
  • A pop-up will ask you if you want to share your notebook with other people. Click Invite people and add the emails of anyone else who is helping you plan the event.

If the bride wants to approve of your bachelorette party plans, make sure to invite her to the notebook as well.

Create your guest list

Create a new page in your notebook for your guest list. To create a new page:

  • Click Add Page
  • Right-click Untitled page.
  • Rename the page to “Guest List.”

List everybody that the bride wants to invite to the bachelorette party. The bride can also add people to the guest list once the OneNote notebook is shared with them.

Once you’ve invited everybody, keep track of RSVPs in your notebook. The way you keep track of RSVPs is up to you. You can simply write, “cannot come” next to the person’s name, cross it out, or highlight names in red for those who aren’t attending.

Choose a location

Where does the bride envision their bachelorette party? Do they want to stay local? Or do they want to plan a long-distance bachelorette party? Vegas, Nashville, and Miami are all popular bachelorette party destinations, but those who live further away might not make it if airfare is expensive. Once a location is selected, you’ll need to choose when the party will take place.

Choose the date(s)

Some bachelorette parties last for a single night, while others last for an entire weekend. If you want to ensure that as many people as possible can attend the bachelorette party, consider creating a poll with a few different dates for guests to choose from. You can easily create a survey using Microsoft Forms to find a date that works for everyone. Once you’ve created your form, send it to the guests.

Create an itinerary

To keep your bachelorette party organized, you’ll want to create a detailed itinerary for the evening or weekend. Create a new page in your notebook for your itinerary. Make sure to include information like flights, transportation, where everyone will meet, what restaurant(s) you’ll be eating at, where people can stay the night, and any other fun things you want to do for the bachelorette party. A good itinerary will have details down to the hour. Include details like addresses, weather, and dress codes so the party will be prepared.
Once your itinerary is complete, share the notebook with attendees so they can access it.

Estimate costs

If you want to give your guests an idea of how much they will be spending on the bachelorette party, create a new page in your notebook dedicated to budgeting. This can help everyone save up for the bachelorette party if it’s going to be an expensive trip. To add an Excel spreadsheet to OneNote:

  • Click the Insert tab.
  • Click Spreadsheet.
  • Choose Existing Excel Spreadsheet if you’ve already made one or click New Excel Spreadsheet to create a new one in OneNote.

List any fees attendees can expect to spend on the hotel, dinner, or any other events that are planned for that weekend.

Enjoy the bachelorette party

Planning is the hardest part. Now that everything is planned, you can have a stress-free bachelorette party. Take plenty of pictures to relive the party in the future!

Get feedback

If you’re a bridesmaid or the Maid of Honor and you have a feeling you’ll plan a bachelorette party again in the future, dedicate a new page in your notebook for post-bachelorette party notes. What went well? What didn’t? If you’re up for it, you can also create another survey using Microsoft Forms to get anonymous feedback from others at the party, then store their findings in OneNote.

Careful planning with ensure everyone has the best time at your bachelorette party. Explore more organization tips with Microsoft 365.
