Wassim Hamidouche is a Principal Research Scientist at Microsoft’s AI for Good Lab, where he builds computer vision, natural language processing, and multimodal generative AI to tackle real-world problems with meaningful social impact. His current work focuses on strengthening the representation of low-resource languages in next-generation AI systems.

Before Microsoft, he was a Principal Researcher at the Technology Innovation Institute (Abu Dhabi, UAE), and earlier an Associate Professor at INSA Rennes and a member of the Institute of Electronics and Telecommunications of Rennes (IETR, UMR CNRS 6164). He has co-authored more than 200 publications, led several research projects, and received multiple awards. His research interests include video compression and processing, computer vision, vision–language models, and post-training methods for large language models.
