Very handy

So convenient to add the extra drives and other devices and then just grab the Surface Book off when on a trip.

Works perfect on multiple displays

Have 3 of these for the work surfaces and work each and every time on multiple monitors. We do not use 4K displays as these are work devices. High end graphics work are left to the tower pc's with 1080 cards.

Perfect dock

I have had this for several months and use it at work to connect my surface book with an external monitor and USB devices. I love the easy magnetic break away feature and my monitor and devices have all worked flawlessly since I got the dock.

Nice but a little tricky to set up

Works great but it seems that if you want to use an external hard drive or screen that you need to plug it directly into the PC first then can go through the dock once the device has been recognised

Works great for my Surface Pro 3 and Surface Book

I just started at Microsoft in Sydney and wanted to be able to connect two monitors to my Surface when I worked from home. I was a bit worried when I read some of the negative reviews but I visited JB HiFi and they assured me if there were any problems I could bring it back. So I bought it and it works like a dream. Very neat on my desk and gives me two displays in addition to my Surface screen plus a mic output and multiple USBs. Couldn't be happier.

good product

Does what its supposed to do. The one problem I have with it is it is very heavy.

As per everyone else paid so much and this device is definitely not on par. Only running one monitor which helps but I constantly need to reset it as the USB would stop responding or the monitor is not recognised. It`s a joke for the price.

MiniDisplay port Fail

Purchased the Surface Dock only two weeks ago. After only ten days, the dock stopped recognising my 4K external monitor. Meanwhile, the monitor works fine, if I bypass the dock, and connect it directly to the Surface Pro 4. I'll be heading back to JB-HiFi to get this Dock replaced, but I'm really concerned about all the similar posts; referencing 'monitor not detected' when using the dock. The Surface Dock is an expensive port replicator, and I'd expect more from the Microsoft Hardware division.

Terrible for the price

For a device that costs a fortune, it is terrible. Using a recommended monitor does NOT work with DP at recommended resolutions and refresh rate (unnecessary purchase due to recommendations on the Surface support page - AUD 1300). Dual monitors do NOT work even when using ACTIVE adaptors (there goes another unnecessary AUD 100). USB NEVER works with this - have to plug in a separate hub to the Surface Book itself which defeats the purpose of the dock. In short avoid at all costs

Works well, happy so far

works well, haven't had any of the dramas described below although I was hesitant to purchase based on the below reviews I'm glad we bought them now. Only minor nuisance i have on occasion is my surface screen sometimes wigs out when i plug the dock in and appears upside down or in portrait view. Easy enough to rectify and it may well be an issue with the sensor in the surface book itself.
