This session is an instructor-led lab where you get to roll up your sleeves and get your hands on the software. In this session, you will have the opportunity to see how you can extend your existing development knowledge to target a new platform – the Cloud. You will discover the basics of using Windows Azure services in applications by creating a simple GuestBook application. You will then deploy the application to Windows Azure and see it live in the Cloud.

ARCILL201 Introduction to Test Planning with Microsoft Test Manager

This session is an instructor-led lab where you get to roll up your sleeves and get your hands on the software. In this lab, you will create and configure a new Test Plan in Microsoft Test Manager 2010. This test plan can be used to test a new release of your software. Next, you will add test suites and existing test cases to a test plan and finally, you will create a new requirement and add that requirement to your test plan. There will be a limited number of machines provided to complete the lab for those who are unable to complete the exercises on their own laptops.

DEVILL301 Building a LightSwitch Control Extension

This session is an instructor-led lab where you get to roll up your sleeves and get your hands on the software. In this lab, you will walk through the creation of a LightSwitch custom control. This control will be used to display an address in a Silverlight BingMap control. Through this process you will learn the solution structure required to create LightSwitch extensions, the various interfaces that should be implemented to make the custom control similar to a native control, and how to package an extension as a VSIX installer. There will be a limited number of machines provided to complete the lab for those who are unable to complete the exercises on their own laptops.

MGTILL305 Getting Started with System Center Orchestrator 2012

This session is an instructor-led lab where you get to roll up your sleeves and get your hands on the software. Process automation is an integral part of building a flexible private cloud infrastructure. In this lab, you will use System Center Orchestrator 2012 to “orchestrate workflows” and automate processes without any scripting or programming by building Runbooks. These Runbooks bring Microsoft System Center products and 3rd party systems together to automate data center workloads. By the end of this lab you will understand the basic Orchestrator architecture and be able to build, test, and monitor simple Runbooks using the Runbook Designer, a drag-and-drop style user interface optimized for use by IT Pros. There will be a limited number of machines provided to complete the lab for those who are unable to complete the exercises on their own laptops.

VIRILL300 Getting Started with System Center Virtual Machine Manager 2010

This session is an instructor-led lab where you get to roll up your sleeves and get your hands on the software. In this lab, you will explore System Center Virtual Machine Manager (SCVMM) 2012 Beta. You will walk through a configured VMM infrastructure to help you understand the new concepts, terms, UI elements, and configuration tasks. You will accomplish this by exploring the three key elements: Clouds and Services, Fabrics, and the Library. Clouds and Services are collections of virtual workloads which provide services on slices of infrastructure. The fabric is a collection of hardware based resources including virtualization hosts, storage, and network devices which provide the physical implementation of clouds and services. The library is a collection of predefined objects which are the building blocks for clouds and services. There will be a limited number of machines provided to complete the lab for those who are unable to complete the exercises on their own laptops.

In this lab, you will configure the integration of SQL Server Reporting Services in Sharepoint 2010 by enabling Reporting Services and configuring a Report Library. Next you will configure SharePoint 2010 for PowerPivot and test the PowerPivot Client in Excel 2010. Finally you will configure PerformancePoint and enable a Business Intelligence Center. In this lab, you explore the various options available in SQL Server 2008 R2 database mirroring configurations and how to configure and maintain a database mirroring solution. By the end of this lab, you will understand the benefits of database mirroring, how to configure database mirroring in high-performance mode or high-availability mode, and how to manage database mirroring configurations. WINILL201 Windows Phone User Experience Design Using SketchFlow

This session is an instructor-led lab where you get to roll up your sleeves and get your hands on the software. In this lab, you discover principles of good user experience design and you start to build a prototype for an application using the SketchFlow Template for Windows Phone and Expression Blend. Prototyping in Sketchflow allows you to add sample data, customize the look and feel of your data, and add interactivity with objects that you create right in Expression Blend, or that are imported from other sources, such as Adobe Illustrator. There will be a limited number of machines provided to complete the lab for those who are unable to complete the exercises on their own laptops.

CLD309 Developing SharePoint Solutions for Office 365

It has all been said before, Cloud computing is the way of the future. With their new Office 365 online offering, Microsoft is setting itself as one of the leaders in cloud computing offerings for enterprises of all sizes. The Office 365 Marketplace offers an interesting perspective for developers willing to sell services and products to enterprises hosted in the cloud. In this session attendees will learn how to develop business solutions targeting SharePoint Online/Office 365 using SharePoint-based sandboxed solutions. A real project will be developed from the ground up, and deployed onto an Office 365 SharePoint-based site.
