General Collatine unwittingly incites in his friend Prince Tarquin a burning desire for his beautiful and chaste wife, Lucrece the fair. But, Tarquin's pursuit of her is fraught with despair and the perils of spiritual damnation. Our tragic tale is based on Shakespeare’s poem ‘The Rape of Lucrece’, set in a haunting 13th century castle amidst the mountains of Italy, accompanied by the music of Monteverdi and the narration of the legendary Richard Burton.
