Crediclub migrates 95% of its infrastructure to Microsoft Azure, reduces latency by 90%

Crediclub's growth required a more agile infrastructure, with lower latency, lower operating cost and compliance with local regulations.

Crediclub adopted a hybrid architecture connected to Microsoft Azure, including a private SASE network and compute services in the Central Mexico region.

Latency was reduced by 90%, throughput capacity was doubled, and $20,000 to $30,000 was saved per month in operational costs.

“With Azure, we don’t just solve problems—we work to identify the next one before it happens.”

Striking the balance between speed, savings, and control

As financial institutions grow, they face increasing pressure to balance agility, cost efficiency, and regulatory compliance. Crediclub—a financial services company based in Monterrey, Mexico—proved that modernizing its infrastructure was key to meeting these demands. Faced with rising transaction volumes, a growing user base, and heightened security requirements, Crediclub adopted Microsoft Azure to streamline operations, reduce costs, and proactively address potential bottlenecks.

By migrating from legacy systems to a cloud-based model, Crediclub reinforced its identity as a regulated and inclusive Sofipo (Sociedad Financiera Popular). The move positioned the company to anticipate and resolve challenges before they could impact performance. “With Azure, we don’t just solve problems—we work to identify the next one before it happens,” says Victor Daniel Morales Leal, Director of IT Operations and Maintenance at Crediclub.

“Reducing latency by 90% was key. It gives the database more time to process and increases its capacity, which improves operations and enhances the user experience from the very first click.”

A hybrid architecture with 90% less latency

In highly regulated sectors like finance, many core systems must remain on-premises—even as customers expect the speed and agility of the cloud. To meet this challenge, Crediclub implemented a hybrid architecture that connects its traditional core system with Azure. This decision reduced latency by 90%, from 300 milliseconds to just 20 milliseconds, enabling faster account openings, optimized database performance, and the ability to process up to 2 million requests with near-total availability.

For Crediclub, this wasn’t just a technical upgrade—it was a strategic decision. As Morales Leal explains: “Reducing latency by 90% was key. It gives the database more time to process and increases its capacity, which improves operations and enhances the user experience from the very first click.”

“The maturity of Microsoft’s telecommunications solutions and the opening of the Central Mexico region marked a turning point.”

More with less: Up to $30K saved with 95% of infrastructure on Azure

Innovating while maintaining regulatory compliance and cost control is a constant challenge. Crediclub achieved that balance by migrating 95% of its infrastructure to Microsoft Azure, meeting national data residency requirements. “By connecting our hardware to Azure and eliminating traditional telecom contracts, the organization reduced operational costs by up to $30,000 per month,” says Morales Leal.

This transformation not only delivered immediate savings but also gave the IT team greater autonomy to manage resources—ensuring a smooth transition with no operational disruptions and an improved user experience. The maturity of Microsoft’s telecommunications solutions and the opening of the Central Mexico region marked a turning point,” says Jasiel González, Network and Infrastructure Manager at Crediclub. "They allowed us to reduce costs and gain agility at the same time."

What's Next: AI, Microsoft Azure Databricks , and More

The relationship with Microsoft goes far beyond technology. From an IT perspective, one of the most valued aspects is access to knowledge: clear documentation, active forums, and effective support channels. "Microsoft is one of the few brands that really empowers. Its documentation, forums, and help channels... everything is so well structured and accessible that it drives professional growth within the ecosystem," says González.

With a more stable, automated and secure operation, Crediclub is moving steadily towards innovation. Its Data Science team develops artificial intelligence projects with tools such as Microsoft Azure Databricks, aiming to unify information and consolidate a reliable data source. At the same time, they continue to improve the Crediclub App – launched in December 2024 – to make it the hub of all banking operations.

"The vision is clear: to be a fully digital financial institution. And to achieve this, we are moving forward hand in hand with Microsoft," concludes Morales Leal.

More than going digital, Crediclub seeks to reinvent itself at every step, with an infrastructure that is already built for that future.
