Veseris delivers essential pest management products accurately and efficiently with Dynamics 365

Veseris relied on manual, Excel-based processes for finance and operations, limiting growth, efficiency, and compliance across its 70-plus locations.

Veseris implemented Dynamics 365 Finance and Supply Chain Management, integrating Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, and ISV solutions for unified, automated operations.

The company eliminated manual tasks, improved warehouse efficiency, streamlined pricing, and gained real-time insights—boosting accuracy, compliance, and job satisfaction.

Veseris
Veseris is a leading distributor of pest management products such as pesticides, herbicides, and fumigants, serving thousands of pest control companies across the United States, Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean. As part of its digital transformation initiative, Veseris automated financial and warehouse operations by moving to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management, along with Power BI and Microsoft Fabric for enhanced data analytics. The new integrated solution is helping Veseris eliminate manual work, streamline and unify operations, increase warehouse efficiency and visibility, and ensure customers receive accurate product orders on time.

“Our warehouses are probably the happiest group of people in the business. Things are just more system-driven now than before. It’s improved morale, efficiency, and job satisfaction.”

Driving a digital transformation journey

With a network of nearly 70 locations—including large distribution hubs, hybrid centers, and retail “ProCenters”—Veseris aims to deliver essential products efficiently and compliantly, supporting both national chains and local businesses.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Veseris began its digital transformation journey after being spun off from parent company Univar Environmental Sciences. The new entity faced a tight deadline: Univar’s legacy green-screen ERP system was shutting down, and Veseris needed to rapidly select and implement a new technology platform.

Finance operations were particularly impacted. The finance department, with a staff of 25, managed accounts receivable, accounts payable, and reporting almost entirely outside the existing ERP system. Tax compliance was daunting, given Veseris’s presence in multiple countries and states. Inventory management and fulfillment were also problematic, with frequent miscounts and shipment errors due to manual processes and paper-based tracking.

As Chief Strategy Officer Jenn Porter explains, “We were doing everything outside of the system; everything lived in Excel. It was very manual.” As a result, the company’s ability to grow was constrained. “Our prices are very sensitive in this industry, so increasing prices is really never an answer,” Porter says. “The only solution was to increase our volume, and we couldn’t do that.”

Standardizing operations with Dynamics 365

Veseris chose Microsoft Dynamics 365 for its scalability and ability to manage inventory and planning across nearly 70 locations while integrating seamlessly with the company’s broader Microsoft ecosystem. Veseris also selected Dynamics 365 because of its reputation and capabilities in the distribution sector.

Working alongside Microsoft Partner Sikich, Veseris implemented Dynamics 365 Finance and Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management across the business. The implementation also included integrations with ISVs including:

  • FlintfFox for complex pricing and promotions
  • RateLinx/ShipLinx for transportation management
  • deFacto for financial reporting

Sikich also helped Veseris adopt Microsoft Power BI dashboards, for actionable insights and deploy Microsoft Fabric to migrate and transform three years of historical data, enabling advanced analytics and demand planning.

Eliminating manual tasks and unifying financial operations

Dynamics 365 has significantly improved processes for Veseris’s financial teams. Consolidating accounts payable and receivable operations into one system reduced manual invoice processing. Integrating Microsoft Fabric and deFacto enabled real-time financial statements, eliminating reliance on error-prone Excel spreadsheets. Veseris also enhanced tax processes for multi-state and multi-country operations, improving the company’s tax compliance ability. “With Dynamics 365, we’re now doing more things in the system, and that has allowed us to save money. We now have better, bona fide processes from AR to AP to reporting,” says Porter.

Bringing data from disparate sources into one unified system also improved professional training offerings for customers. “We offer courses to help customers become licensed professionals so they can use government-regulated products,” says Michael Finney, Business Process Manager at Veseris. “Previously, we had to get all the regulatory data from an entirely separate system, but now it’s all in one place in Dynamics 365. All the information, including specific products, states, and licenses, was out of the system, and now it’s all in the system and easily accessible.”

By moving to advanced warehousing and deploying handheld barcode scanners, Veseris has boosted efficiency and accuracy. Employees now use the Supply Chain Warehouse Management mobile app for real-time tracking of 8,000-plus product SKUs across 70 locations, including hubs, hybrids, and ProCenters. “Our warehouses are probably the happiest group of people in the business. Things are just more system-driven now than before. It’s improved morale, efficiency, and job satisfaction,” says Ted Goff, Business Architect at Veseris.

Veseris has also optimized and consolidated transfer orders with Dynamics 365, reducing shipment frequency and transport costs by half. Automated cycle counts have improved accuracy and reduced labor in warehouses.

“We’ve seen big cost savings with transfer orders in Dynamics 365. That used to be a very manual process, and we’ve automated it and consolidated our transfer orders to ship,” Goff says. The company has driven further efficiencies in item barcoding, moving from separate warehouse packs and pick lists to digital wave labels in Supply Chain Management, which process work for multiple orders simultaneously. “Everything is done on the handheld via label now, which ultimately helps us increase shipping volume,” Goff says.

“With Dynamics 365, we’re now doing more things in the system, and that has allowed us to save money. We now have better, bona fide processes from AR to AP to reporting.”

Simplifying a complex pricing and performance structure

Veseris’s pricing structure is highly complex, with nationwide diversity, vendor-specific rules, rebates, and promotions. Flintfox, integrated with Dynamics 365, has enabled accurate, controlled pricing and accruals, replacing manual calculations and improving margin management.

“We have a very diverse pricing nationwide for a very diverse group of customers and very specific rules from our vendors. Flintfox and Dynamics 365 help us handle all the accruals on the back end and simplify an incredibly complex process,” says Finney.

Veseris restructured customer hierarchy in Dynamics 365, enabling consolidated billing, accurate reporting, and compliance with hazardous goods regulations. Integration with ShipLinx from RateLinx automated transportation management, giving true visibility into the cost to serve each customer.

“We can now see the margin we’re making on a sales order because we can see the true cost of getting a product from our warehouse to our customer’s door,” says Finney. “We also have better visibility in customer addresses, to make sure we’re shipping to the right place every time. This helps us support our continuous improvement goal of constantly improving the customer experience.”

Training records for customers are tracked in Dynamics 365, ensuring only licensed professionals can purchase regulated products. Fabric and Power BI dashboards provide managers with better insights for data-driven performance.

What’s next

Veseris has modernized its operations, improved efficiency, and positioned itself for future growth with Dynamics 365, but the journey has just begun. The company is exploring demand planning applications for early 2026 and piloting Microsoft Copilot and Microsoft AI agents to optimize inventory, manage exceptions, and deliver custom solutions.

“We’re using Copilot now. We did a demo with Microsoft AI agents. It’s all amazing. We’re still in the R&D phase, but the possibilities are exciting,” says Porter. Goff adds, “We’re completely rebuilding this business to drive everything from the data perspective. It’s going to take time, but we’re moving out of the crawling phase and starting to run."

“We’ve seen big cost savings with transfer orders in Dynamics 365. That used to be a very manual process, and we’ve automated it and consolidated our transfer orders to ship.”
