In just six months, BMTax worked with Microsoft partner Qualiserve to consolidate 45 TB of data in Microsoft Fabric. The consulting firm also created an internal chatbot with Azure OpenAI in Foundry Models to help employees interact with data.

The platform, called Intelligence Tax Hub, transformed BMTax into a data-driven organization. It processes 5 million tax documents per minute, boosts efficiency by 15–25% with automation, and offers a new foundation for AI business solutions.

Reimagining business operations with AI-powered innovation

BMTax is a Brazilian tax and fiscal consulting firm with about 60 employees that serves clients in industries from agribusiness and pharmaceuticals to retail and energy. These firms often have global footprints and high tax exposure, placing a premium on BMTax’s ability to quickly process and analyze data.

Consolidating 45 TB of data in just six months with new platform

To turn its vision into reality, BMTax began working with Qualiserve, a Microsoft partner in Brazil that provides IT solutions focused on infrastructure, cloud services, and data analytics. They created a secure, scalable platform called Intelligence Tax Hub.

Intelligence Tax Hub is built on Microsoft Fabric, with all 45 TB of its data unified in Microsoft OneLake—Fabric’s centralized, organization‑wide data lake. Azure OpenAI in Foundry Models powers a proprietary chatbot that helps employees discover and interact with data using natural‑language, AI‑powered retrieval and reasoning. BMTax also uses the visualization tools in Microsoft Power BI to convey data-driven insights that inform the firm’s decision making. To safeguard its sensitive, highly regulated data, BMTax uses security solutions, including Microsoft Purview and Microsoft Defender.
