Connect to on-premises data sources with a Power BI gateway

Keep your dashboards and reports up to date by connecting to your on-premises data sources without the need to move the data. Query large datasets and take advantage of your existing investments. Get the flexibility you need to meet individual needs, and the needs of your organization.
Overview

Secure, easy access to your on-premises data

One gateway for all your cloud services

Install once and deploy multiple on-premises data connections across Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, and Azure Logic Apps using the same gateway.
Five people work together in a modern office surrounded by multiple computer monitors and wall-mounted displays showing dashboards, charts, data tables, and a world map. The workspace features white desks, blue chairs, exposed ceiling beams, and large ventilation ducts.

Easy setup

Download and install the gateway with minimal interactions. Then sign in with your organization account to register the gateway to be used by cloud services.
A person sits in an office chair at a desk in a glass-walled workspace, facing a desktop monitor and an open laptop. The desktop screen displays a dashboard with colorful charts, graphs, and data visualizations, while the laptop shows a webpage. A keyboard and mouse are on the desk, with a plant and shelving visible to the left and a blue-and-beige chair to the right.

Secured access to data

Data transfer between Power BI and the on-premises data gateway is secured through Azure Service Bus. Credentials provided by gateway administrators are encrypted to help protect your information in the cloud and only decrypted on the gateway machine.
A presenter in a dark blazer and light turtleneck stands in front of a large display during a presentation. The screen shows a data dashboard with colorful donut charts, bar charts, and other visualizations. Several audience members are visible out of focus in the foreground.
