As part of our commitment to a more secure computing experience, the BlueHat Prize aims to motivate development of innovative solutions intended to address serious computer security threats.

WHAT IS THE CONTEST?

The inaugural Microsoft BlueHat Prize contest challenges security researchers to design a novel runtime mitigation technology designed to prevent the exploitation of memory safety vulnerabilities. The solution considered to be the most innovative by the Microsoft BlueHat Prize board will be presented the grand prize of $200,000 (USD). Important information:

  • The entry period closed at midnight Pacific Time on April 1, 2012.
  • The winning entry will be announced at Black Hat USA 2012.
  • Submitters retain all rights to the intellectual property in the content they submit and Microsoft has the right to license that content.

Entries must include:

  • Full documentation of your original idea (description and any necessary diagrams)

  • A code prototype, demonstrating your idea in action

BLUEHAT PRIZE QUESTION SWEEPSTAKES

Win $5,000! Visit the Microsoft booth at Black Hat USA (July 25-26) for a chance to win $5,000. Simply submit a security defense oriented challenge question to enter the BlueHat Prize Question Sweepstakes.
