Alexandros Neophytou

Alexandros Neophytou (Alex) is a computer-vision engineer with expertise in 2D to 3D reconstruction algorithms focusing on the human body and face.

Before joining Microsoft’s Applied Sciences Group (ASG) in 2019, he worked at RealD on gaze correction and model-based approaches for 3D face reconstruction from a single input image, aiming to support deployment even on mobile and other devices with limited processing capability.

His work at RealD led to the filing of several patents.  His research has been presented and demonstrated at such industry conferences as MWC, CES, and DisplayWeek.

Alex holds a Ph.D. in computer vision from the University of Surrey in the U.K.
