Can Goksen

Can Goksen is a research software development engineer in Microsoft’s Applied Sciences Group (ASG), where he develops machine-learning algorithms for audio, speech, and language data.

Can’s interests lie in the intersection of deep learning interpretability and compression.  He aims to understand large models and apply them on edge.

Before joining ASG, Can worked on resource-reallocation problems at Microsoft Azure Storage Capacity Management.  Earlier, he obtained his B.A. in philosophy and computer science from Vanderbilt University.

Away from machine learning, Can can be found dancing, painting, or having existential conversations with friends or even strangers.
