Principal Electrical Engineer

Yong Ren

Yong Ren is a principal electrical engineer in Microsoft’s Applied Sciences Group (ASG).  He has previously worked on other Microsoft teams working on products such as Zune and Zune HD, mobile devices for the Windows Phone platform, and early incubation and device development of the HoloLens mixed-reality head-mounted display.

Fascinated by spaceship dreams since childhood, he joined SpaceX and worked on Starlink, a constellation of small satellites in low-earth orbit, building complicated phase-array boards for satellites and commercial user-terminal devices, for five years before returning to Microsoft and joining ASG.
