SQL Server Critical Update Wizard for Microsoft® SQL Server™ 2000 and Microsoft® SQL Server Desktop Engine (MSDE) 2000

The SQL Server Critical Update Wizard will update editions of Microsoft SQL Server 2000 and MSDE 2000 that are vulnerable to the Slammer worm. All versions of the SQL Server 2000 Evaluation Edition can also be updated with the SQL Critical Update Wizard. However, the Evaluation Edition can not be updated using SP3. The SQL Critical Update Wizard was developed specifically for the home and small business user, though enterprise customers may also download and deploy the wizard to their internal customers. The SQL Critical Update Wizard will walk you through the steps of detecting a vulnerability to Slammer and updating the affected files. SQL Critical Update Wizard runs on Windows® 98, Windows ME, Windows NT® 4.0, Windows 2000 and Windows XP. Please see Knowledge Base Article: 814372 for more information about this wizard.
