The Azure Data team drives the future of data processing in Microsoft Cloud. Our software development team, located in Belgrade, is building some of the world's most advanced and widely used data processing cloud services with millions of active users. Azure SQL Managed Instance is our customer's first choice service for migrating existing SQL Server instances from on-premises data centers to the cloud. Azure Synapse Analytics is our flagship modern data warehousing service, used by everyone from individual developers to the world's largest enterprises. In the Azure Compute team, our goal is to build the platform that enables building and operation of always-on, scalable distributed applications like Azure SQL Managed Instance or Azure Synapse Analytics. We are developing end-to-end resource management and orchestration for Azure Service Fabric, which can orchestrate millions of containers on thousands of virtual machines. We are also working on innovative solutions for the next-generation platform for the entire Azure and enabling fast and efficient management of changes that are rolled out to our cloud platforms.
We are at the inflection point of a new technological revolution, having AI as the new electricity. Our MDCS Office team is spearheading these changes in the productivity space. We have been focusing on reimagining and empowering Microsoft Office productivity through AI-powered user experiences, services, and ML models built across core Microsoft Office applications: Word, PowerPoint, Teams, Excel, Office Mobile, etc.
Over the years, the special focus of the team has been on understanding and generating content, with the goal of saving time and delighting users through authoring, reading, and comprehension scenarios. Two prominent areas are authoring assistance, such as Writing Assistance in Microsoft Editor and Designer in Microsoft Word, and Office AI platforms, such as Word Extensibility, and a platform for bringing real-time AI into Office applications.
Office Media Group's (OMG) mission is to empower all Microsoft 365 customers to do more with media. Without augmentation, media is a black box until it is played. We make media consumption and creation across M365 an everyday activity by removing the fundamental barriers to using media and enabling valuable everyday use cases. From intelligent video and meeting recordings for organizations, through business and consumer video (Stream) and photo experiences in Windows and on the web and mobile devices, to video creation tooling for all users, and 3D rendering support for developers.
Our team in Belgrade focuses on delivering end-to-end experiences fueled by Machine Learning and Computer Vision for Intelligent Meeting Recap, Video engagement, and Intelligence in Stream. Noise Cancellation in Stream and Meeting Recap (AI Chapters and POIs) are some projects we have worked on here in Belgrade.
The Web Experiences Team (WebXT) builds comprehensive and engaging content, services, and platforms for consumers to access the information they need anywhere, on any device, and for enterprises to enhance their employee and customer experiences. The goal is to make the web work for our consumers, advertisers, and publishers in a safe environment where everyone can get informed, entertained, save money, and thrive.
In Belgrade, there are several WebXT sub-teams within MDCS: Maps, News and feeds, Office Integrations, Shopping Incubations, Ads, Content verticals, Finance, and Sports teams.
Applied Sciences Group is part of the Windows + Devices organization, and it is an applied research and development group dedicated to creating the next generation of computer interaction technologies.
ASG Belgrade is an interdisciplinary team of software and hardware engineers, project managers, and researchers focused on incubating and shipping technologies related to telepresence, AI, and human-computer interaction. We actively collaborate with the Windows, Surface, Mesh, and other groups within Microsoft to push the boundaries of technology and help customers achieve more.
The team is a part of the Microsoft Education group that provides schools, teachers, and students with solutions, technologies, and education expertise to accelerate opportunities for all learners. Our team in Serbia focuses on Math as one of the core skills taught in schools worldwide. Through a range of compelling user scenarios across Office, Teams, and Windows, powered by our own Math Intelligence Services for math handwriting recognition, solving, and graphing, we are working on making math education more inclusive of adapting to the unique needs of all students.
