Network interface card: At least one network interface card (NIC) is required. Additional NICs may be required depending on the selected network topology- Prior to installation, please review the 'What's New' and 'Release Notes' available on the Microsoft HPC Pack Documentations.
o Slipstream installation:
Download the 'HPCPack2019Update3-Full-v8355.zip' file, extract the contents to the root of your drive and run 'setup.exe' to start the HPC Pack 2019 Update 3 installation wizard on a supported Windows Server based computer.

This QFE fixes some known issues of HPC Pack 2019 update 3 as described below.
- Web Portal Security Enhancement. Fixed insecure deserialization of the Web Portal job-list preferences cookie, preventing authenticated users from executing unauthorized code on the head node through specially crafted requests.
- Scheduler Communication Security Enhancement. Removed insecure BinaryFormatter deserialization from Scheduler WCF messages and replaced it with a controlled native identity serialization format, preventing specially crafted messages from executing code on the head node. Note Entra ID job authentication requires the patch on both client and server sides.
- Certificate Authentication Enhancement. Strengthened X.509 client certificate validation for the Scheduler and related HPC services. Access to protected internal services is now restricted to certificates matching the cluster configuration, preventing certificate-based identity spoofing and privilege escalation.
This QFE needs to be run on all cluster nodes. Before installation, please make sure the current version number (Start HPC Cluster Manager, click Help->About) is 6.3.8328.0 or 6.3.8352 or 6.3.8355.
Download and run ‘KB5124659_x64’ on all cluster nodes. HPC services will be automatically restarted with the patch. After patching, the server version and the client version are both 6.3.8359.0. Note this patch cannot be uninstalled.
