SELECT PLEASURE DELETE DELIGHT Close the draft message by telling your computer to close WordPad. CLOSE WORDPAD CommandingSpeech Recognition allows you to control windows, start programs, switch between windows, and click on buttons, all using only your voice. Speech Recognition recognizes the names of programs and buttons and acts like you just clicked them when you say their names. OPEN INTERNET EXPLORER This page has a lot of links and toolbar commands. But, if you don't know the name of a button or command, or just want to get at a link quickly, you can use the command, "Show numbers." SHOW NUMBERS Look for the number on top of the link you want to select. Say: 37 When it becomes highlighted, say: OK Choose a top navigation link, the same way, first say: SHOW NUMBERS Look for the number for the command you want and say the number. Say: 33 Select it by saying: OK When you're finished (just like you did with WordPad) say "close" and the name of the program you want to close. CLOSE INTERNET EXPLORER WindowsYou can scroll up and down in any open window, close and minimize windows, and switch between running programs all by saying what you want the computer to do. Let's open two programs at once and switch back and forth between them. OPEN WORDPAD OPEN INTERNET EXPLORER Let's copy the link from the open Web page into our WordPad document. COPY Now, we'll switch back to WordPad by saying: SWITCH TO WORDPAD We'll paste the link into the document by saying the command: PASTE Finally, you can minimize all windows to the Taskbar by using: SHOW DESKTOP You can move the cursor anywhere on the screen and tell your mouse to "Click". You do this with the Mousegrid. Say: MOUSEGRID Since the program you want to select is within the number 8 area on the Mousegrid, say: Eight It's still within the number 8 part of the grid, so say "eight" again. Eight One more time and the center of the Mousegrid will be right over where you want to click. Eight Now, just say "click" and your mouse pointer will move to that location from wherever it is on screen and will click, opening Internet Explorer again. Say: CLICK You can activate any key by saying "Press" plus the name of the key. For example, to open the Help menu, use the shortcut key "F1." Say: PRESS F1 Some keys don't even need "press" to activate—you can select "Delete, Backspace, Enter, Page Up, Page Down, Home, End, and Tab" by just saying their names.
