Selecting a Mouse Pointer Scheme

Select the Mouse icon in Control Panel to customize mouse settings.

To change the appearance of your mouse pointer, select the Pointer tab in Mouse Properties.

1 On the Start menu:
  • Point to Settings.
  • Click Control Panel.
Display the Start menu by pressing CTRL+ESC (or the Windows logo key).
  • Move to Settings by pressing S.
  • Select Control Panel by pressing C.
2 In Control Panel:
  • Double-click the Mouse icon.
If the focus is not in Control Panel:
  • Press TAB.
  • Move to the Mouse icon by using the arrow keys.
  • Press ENTER.
3 In the Mouse Properties dialog box:
  • Click the Pointers tab.
In the Mouse Properties dialog box, to move to the Window Setup tab:
  • Move to the Pointers tab by pressing the RIGHT ARROW key.
4 On the Pointers tab, in the Scheme list:
  • Click the arrow to see your options.
  • Click the scheme that best meets your needs

Note:  A preview of your selection will appear in the lower box.

On the Pointers tab:
  • Highlight the Scheme list by pressing ALT+S.
  • Move through the list by using the UP ARROW and DOWN ARROW keys.

Note:  A preview of your selection will appear in the lower box.

5 Click OK. Press ENTER.
