Arun Asokan Nair is a 2020 research intern in Microsoft’s Applied Sciences Group (ASG).  His research interests lie in machine learning for signal processing, abnd specifically beam forming and compressed sensing, in audio, vision, and ultrasound imaging.  He received the Best Paper award at the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) International Conference on Multimedia, 2019.

Arun is pursuing his Ph.D. in electrical and computer engineering at Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, having previously received B.Tech. and M.Tech. degrees in electrical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology in Madras, India, in 2015.

He enjoys reading, playing video games, and cooking (and eating!) in his spare time.
