Soroush Abbasi Koohpayegani is a 2021 research intern in Microsoft’s Applied Sciences Group (ASG) working on efficient image recognition models.

He is a second-year Ph.D. student at the University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC) working with Hamed Pirsiavash.

His research interests lie in computer vision and machine learning.  Specifically, he is interested in self-supervised learning for visual recognition.

He received his bachelor’s degree in computer science from the Sharif University of Technology.
