Tianyi Chen

Tianyi Chen is a principal research manager in Microsoft’s Applied Sciences Group (ASG).

He received his Ph.D. degree in applied mathematics and his M.S. degree in computer science from Johns Hopkins University in 2018; his B.S. degree was in mathematics from Dalian University of Technology in 2014; he is currently pursuing a (part-time) M.S. degree in physics from the University of Washington.

Before joining ASG, Tianyi was an applied scientist in Microsoft’s InkAI team developing various deep-learning methods for solving inking scenarios.

He has a broad interest in development ranging from computer vision, optimization, and natural language processing techniques.
