Web API preview documentation released
In case you haven’t heard, we’re introducing a new API that will make it easier to create applications across a wide variety of platforms, devices, and programming languages. This new Web API is available as a preview feature to Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online organizations that use Dynamics CRM Online 2015 Update 1.
To support this preview feature we have put together documentation and samples you can find at https://msdn.microsoft.com/dynamics/crm/webapipreview.
We have 14 new topics and 4 samples published in addition to the reference content which has already been available.
The Documentation and Samples sections of the introductory topic describes what has been added.
Please note that the style of the examples in the content is different from what you may be used to in the SDK. We are not documenting a set of assemblies or a generated proxy (an SDK), we are describing the API at a lower level, so you will see mostly HTTP request and response examples.
In the Samples, you will find a couple sample helper libraries which help manage authentication and configuration as well as some re-usable C# & JavaScript libraries which highlight the capabilities of the web API preview. There is also a sample that will let you generate reference documentation to include the customizations in your organization.
Please send any suggestions for improvement to the Dynamics CRM Web API Preview Forum.
