Cybersecurity Courses for K-12 Educators

K-12 educators explore the key role they play in creating a strong cybersecurity presence within their classrooms. With two course options, educators will learn how to anticipate common cyber threats, implement security measures, and educate students about cyber safety.

Microsoft Learn Cybersecurity Course

An abridged, 45-minute, free course about cybersecurity practices to foster awareness and preparedness for cyber threats.  This streamlined version does not include the Action Plan, assessments, or other interactive elements.


Microsoft 365 A3 & A5 Customers Comprehensive Cybersecurity Course

Microsoft education customers who have purchased Microsoft 365 A3 or A5 licenses are eligible to download the full course (in five modules) so you can import, adapt, and install on your own learning management system (LMS).

In the comprehensive 2-hour, self-paced course, K-12 educators will:

  • Learn practical strategies for identifying and responding to school cyber threats;
  • Understand basic cybersecurity measures to safeguard devices and sensitive data;
  • Learn how to advocate for cybersecurity by asking questions of their school’s IT leadership team; and
  • Become aware of cybersecurity education opportunities for themselves, their students, and their school.
