June 2, 2026
On June 16, Work IQ API reaches general availability and will be billed through a consumption-based model using Copilot Credits — a unified consumption currency that also covers Copilot Studio and other Microsoft AI services. The Copilot Credit balance can now be drawn down via your Work IQ APIs. There is no separate Work IQ API subscription, SKU, or per-user license.
You will pay Work IQ API charges directly when:
- You build your own agent or app that calls the Work IQ APIs.
- You use a third-party agent that grounds in your Microsoft 365 data through the Work IQ APIs.
Work IQ API consumption consists of two parts: variable charge for query-style consumption (grounding, retrieval, and reasoning) and a static usage component for actions and tools invoked through Work IQ.
