Hutch McGee, one time golf sensation and former pro, has hit rock bottom. No longer on the tour, he's co-owner of one of the more run down golf courses in the Palm Springs area. Making it worse is his side business as a golf shark. Setting up unsuspecting marks for high stakes money games, he's not making any friends by hustling these weekend warriors out of their money and sometimes, they can get pretty upset when they are taken. After one of these aforementioned games goes south, Hutch finds himself in trouble and forced to coach the Palm Springs chapter of the Little Loopers, an area golf program that helps the area's youth. Anything but coaching this team would be better for Hutch as he's never really been a fan of kids, "especially teenagers" as he says and he quickly finds himself in trouble with the group's mentor for using them as his assistants rather than teaching them the game of golf. However, they finally start to impact his life and he soon finds himself the one learning new lessons about life from these little golfers. Turning down one final chance at the pro tour, Hutch McGee goes over and beyond his duties as he leads the Little Loopers to the final round of the state championship.
