Perfect shape, weight, buttons are perfect feeling Terrible tracking, angle snapping, lift off distance is too high, speed where it loses track is bad if they made a sensor that would be a direct competitor to the ones used in all the new gaming mice (logitech g403, zowie EC1-B, 3360 sensor!) then this mouse would be the very very very very veeeeery BEST mouse. Microsoft doesnt understand that every mouse that sports an ergonomic palm shape that has come out after the 3.0 has been trying to reproduce the perfect shape that the 3.0 has and all FAILED. The closest mouse to do it right is the EC1 from Zowie.. the material and build quality is pretty trash though (getting better slowly though, no doubt about it). MICROSOFT, GIVE US THE SENSOR WE NEED PLEASE I WILL BUY 100 of these if you can do that.

This mouse is darn near perfect in every way...except the sensor is TRASH. I haven't used a mouse that has glitched, bugged out, or angle snapped more than this mouse since 2002. Maybe it can be fixed through software in a future driver patch, but as of the time of this review it is NOT a mouse to use for gaming -- especially if you lift your mouse up off the pad to turn in FPS games. It's such a shame because the mouse feels perfect in the hand, buttons have a super satisfying click, it just looks great. But they really dropped the ball on the sensor. GG Microsoft

Review title of 一也Microsoft screwed up the legend

It is really good that MS decided to keep the original design. It feels almost exactly the same as it used to be. They even fixed the sloppy side buttons by welding the micro switches to a separate PCB, which is directly attached to the upper shell. However, they screwed up by using a total garbage tracking sensor. When moving the mouse fast, the cursor will spin out. In games it means shoots your view to the sky/ground. This was never a problem for the original. I didn't even know that tracking sensors can be this bad in 2017. Truly disappointed.

This mouse was used by some of the worlds best CS players, and players of major competitive FPS games around the world, this is the end game, the mouse that if you use you will never get use to another, nothing like this beast, the legend, the myth, has returned. I'll sell a kidney for this.

The soft touch rubber on the side begins to wear off after a few months of use. Had them replace it once, but now it's out of warranty. So silly to use a material like that.

Review title of AndrewAwesome all-round mouse with quality touches

This was more or less exactly what I was looking for. I wanted somewhat subdued looks (that tail light tho), good button actuation, solid (though nothing extreme) when it comes to tracking, a good wheel, and thumb keys. The thumb keys alone (each shaped differently to make purely tactile use possible) would make this worth the money. The scroll wheel is also excellent. I haven't had the tracking issues that some other reviewers have had - it's been reliable and very precise. This is a bit big for a mouse, so consider that when you buy. Oh yeah, and there's this cool tail light. Microsoft's software for it is pretty basic and you can't even get it in the Microsoft Store (how come) but it'll do, and it allows for app-specific macros, which is cool (though I don't need that feature). Great buy overall. To the nerds complaining that this isn't a gaming mouse: It's not a gaming mouse. No one said it was.
