Lionel Barrymore stars as a strong-willed patriarch who returns from the dead to amend the wrongs he did to his family in this drama based on a venerable 1911 David Belasco stage play. In spirit form, greedy businessman Peter Grimm (Barrymore) tries to correct all the mistakes he made during his lifetime, including forcing his adopted daughter Catherine (Helen Mack) into a marriage of convenience with his callow nephew Frederik (Allen Vincent).
