Announcing Tenant-level hygiene analytics for Power Apps
To better accommodate the rapid expansion of Power Platform adoption across the enterprise, service administrators require resource hygiene management tooling to avoid accumulating bloat in the system. The latest updates to the Tenant-level analytics include interactive controls that make it a snap to identify stale and orphaned Power Apps deployed across multiple environments or the entire tenant.
At Microsoft Ignite 2021 in November, we announced several amazing service enhancements for customers geared towards empowering administrators which are now available for public preview. Tenant-wide analytics are built on service telemetry data derived from Power Platform apps, bots, and services. The ‘Inventory’ view has been extended to provide admins with a solution for quickly tracking down unused Power Apps across multiple environments.
Who has access?
Admins with the following roles can view the Power Platform admin center analytics:
- Tenant-level administrator – has access to all environments
- Environment-level admin – environment list is filtered to include only environments where the admin has Contributor or Environment Admin role
How does it work?
Admins may use the Apps last used filter in the ‘Inventory’ view to identify stale or unused Power Apps based on the Last Opened date. This view includes direct links into the Maker Portal allowing admins to quickly take action.
