Build the next big thing

Access AI and development tools—not to mention expert guidance and Startup credits—when you join Microsoft for Startups.

Summary Microsoft for Startups is introducing a simpler, more transparent path for startups to build, scale, and grow into enterprise businesses on Azure. Startups can now apply directly, start quickly with Startup credits, and unlock additional support, resources, and go-to-market opportunities as they grow.

The startup ecosystem looks very different than it did just a few years ago. I see it every day in the founders we work with at Microsoft for Startups. Startups are building faster than ever with AI but turning that early momentum into enterprise growth is still a challenge.

That’s why we’re introducing a simpler, more transparent path for startups to join Microsoft for Startups and grow into enterprise businesses on Microsoft Azure. These changes are focused on helping founders build fast, scale smart, and sell more.

Enterprise customers still expect secure infrastructure, responsible AI practices, strong governance, and solutions that fit into the tools and workflows they already use. Founders are also navigating long procurement cycles, limited engineering resources, and increasing pressure to turn early traction into sustainable revenue faster.

At Microsoft for Startups, we’re listening to founders, investors, and partners about what startups need most from Microsoft. Over the past year, one thing has become especially clear: startups need more than infrastructure. They need a platform that helps them move from building products to scaling enterprise-ready businesses.

These updates are focused on helping founders:

  • Build fast with AI infrastructure and modern developer tooling.
  • Scale smart with enterprise-ready cloud and AI capabilities.
  • Sell more by reaching enterprise customers and accelerating revenue growth through the Microsoft ecosystem.

We’ve been proud to support startups through every stage of growth, and we’re continuing to invest in making Microsoft for Startups even more valuable for founders building the next generation of AI applications and enterprise software.

One path into Microsoft for Startups

One thing we heard clearly from founders is that they want it to be easier to get started and easier to understand how benefits grow over time.

In the past, startups entered Microsoft for Startups through different pathways. Today, startups can join the same way. Startups can apply directly through our website and start building immediately with access to Startup credits, Azure services, and AI capabilities through Microsoft Foundry.

Benefits grow alongside startups, with additional credits, support, and go-to-market resources available based on verified progress and Azure usage. This creates a simpler, more transparent experience for founders while supporting startups at every stage of growth.

Startup credits that grow with your business

We also want Startup credits to better match the way startups actually grow.

  • Startups can access Startup credits earlier and receive more as they grow on Azure.
  • Qualified startups can start building immediately with Startup credits and access up to $150,000 over time based on service adoption and sustained usage on Azure.
  • Startups backed by a Microsoft for Startups Investor Network partner get an enhanced experience, including a dedicated Microsoft point of contact, deeper Microsoft Marketplace and co-sell support to accelerate go-to-market momentum, and access to additional Startup credits beyond the standard program offering.

This approach allows startups to access the infrastructure they need earlier while creating a clearer path for long-term growth.

Worlds transforms the signal from cameras and sensors into live spatial data, creating a system of record for the physical world. Delivering that at enterprise scale requires trusted AI infrastructure, and Azure gives us the compute, security, and deployment foundation to move quickly from pilot to production in the environments where many of our customers are already standardized. Through the Microsoft for Startups Pegasus Program, we’ve been able to accelerate enterprise conversations and bring a repeatable deployment model to a massive market.

Expanding support for startups building on Azure

We’re also expanding the support startups can access as they move from early builds to production and enterprise growth.

Eligible startups may now receive:

  • A dedicated Microsoft for Startups point of contact to help navigate benefits, technical resources, Microsoft Marketplace readiness, and co-sell opportunities.
  • Azure Standard Support.
  • Access to graphics processing unit (GPU)-enabled AI infrastructure.
  • Technical resources and engineering support.
  • Marketplace readiness and co-sell support.
  • Go-to-market resources designed to help accelerate enterprise growth and revenue.

As startups move from experimentation to production workloads, we believe higher-touch support becomes increasingly important.

We want founders to spend less time navigating infrastructure and procurement complexity, and more time building products, reaching customers, and growing their business.

Helping startups streamline procurement and reach enterprise customers faster

We also know that building a great product is only part of the journey. For many founders, the hardest part is getting that product into the hands of enterprise customers. Enterprise sales cycles can be difficult to navigate. Procurement reviews, security requirements, and vendor onboarding processes often slow momentum even when customer interest is strong.

Microsoft for Startups helps startups navigate those challenges through Microsoft Marketplace and the broader Microsoft enterprise ecosystem. Through Marketplace and co-sell opportunities, startups can:

  • Reduce procurement friction by selling through customers’ existing Azure budgets.
  • Reach enterprise buyers through the Microsoft commercial ecosystem.
  • Accelerate pipeline generation and revenue growth.
  • Work alongside Microsoft sellers on qualified opportunities.
  • Build inside the platforms enterprise customers already use and trust.

As AI adoption accelerates across industries, startups increasingly need both technical infrastructure and credible enterprise distribution.

That combination is where the Microsoft ecosystem becomes uniquely valuable.

Microsoft has been instrumental in accelerating our go-to-market motion. Through co-sell and the Microsoft for Startups Pegasus program, we’ve grown our qualified sales pipeline by 20% and meaningfully shortened our sales cycles. By connecting us with enterprise accounts that align directly with our value proposition, Microsoft has helped us reach the right buyers faster and convert with more confidence.

We’re also continuing to deepen our collaboration with venture capital firms, accelerators, incubators, and university innovation programs across the startup ecosystem.

The Microsoft for Startups Investor Network plays an important role in helping founders access infrastructure, technical support, and enterprise go-to-market opportunities earlier in their journey.

By working closely with ecosystem partners, we can help startups move faster while creating stronger pathways to enterprise adoption and long-term growth.

What we love about working with Microsoft for Startups is how intentionally they bring the ecosystem together. They’re making real connections between founders, investors, and partners that unlock momentum early on. It’s been great for Neo startups, and we’re excited to keep building alongside them.

Built for the next generation of AI startups

We’re seeing founders build increasingly sophisticated AI applications, agents, and enterprise workflows on Azure. At the same time, enterprise expectations around security, governance, observability, and responsible AI continue to rise. Microsoft for Startups is designed to help founders navigate both realities.

From GitHub and Azure to Microsoft Foundry, Marketplace, and co-sell opportunities, our goal is to provide startups with an integrated path from idea to enterprise scale.

For us, this work has never been just about helping startups access technology. It’s about helping founders grow revenue, reach customers faster, and build lasting enterprise businesses. Beyond infrastructure, Microsoft for Startups helps founders reach enterprise customers through Marketplace and co-sell opportunities.
