Description

Become a boss, build a dungeon, and destroy puny heroes. The best-selling indie card game has arrived to Windows Store! Boss Monster is a dungeon-building card game that challenges players to become the ultimate villains: video game bosses. Thousands of players around the world have enjoyed the paper version of the game, but now Brotherwise Games has partnered with video game developer Plain Concepts, creators of Wave Engine, to bring Boss Monster from the tabletop to the digital world! * What is Boss Monster? * If you've ever wanted to stomp on an upstart plumber or send your goblins and ghosts out to haunt some heroes, then Boss Monster is the game for you. Sporting retro-inspired pixel art, and paying homage to classic video games and geeky pop culture, Boss Monster immerses you in the role of the video game boss as you use Room Cards to build a dungeon which must entice worthy heroes, then slay them. * What is the Digital Version Like? * Digital Boss Monster is a straight conversion of the tabletop game. You'll be playing with virtual cards, but everything about the game has been designed to be as authentic as possible. Of course, the app auto-calculates damage and treasure values, letting you take advantage of rapid readout treasure counts in your and your opponents' dungeons. * What are some of the features in Digital Boss Monster? * - Play against up to three AI opponents in solo play. - Challenge other human opponents online. - Play with ALL of the bosses, rooms, and spells available in the base game ...including rare out-of-print cards! - Explore new "digitally-enhanced" cards: four rooms, three new Bosses, and a new spell that all take advantage of the digital platform, allowing stats and treasure values to change as you play (coming in future expansions). Thanks for your support of Boss Monster!

Very fun

This is a clean port of the card game, and the touch interface is very smooth! It doesn't make your SP3 run very hot either, which is a plus.

Great Game, but...

I have the actual card game, and the digital version appears to be a great replication of the original. However, I have one major complaint, not about the game, but about the advertisement. The free version of the game is only capable of running a single player, 2-person game where you face a computer. There is no multiplayer functionality at all unless you buy the full game. Nowhere in the store was this limitation stated, so I scooped up the free copy expecting more features. Be sure you are aware of this before picking up the game - the free version has almost no features to enjoy.

Much improved

The tips on how to use cards is such an improvement that this alone almost made the game worth purchasing. The improved card targeting is working really well. The game is fun, and I would recommend it. Still would like a limited undo when playing single player.

Freezes a Lot

Anytime two things are supposed to happen the game freezes up, almost every time. In the end I have to close it and give up on that game. It's a real bummer when it's a good game too. Otherwise the game is really fun.

So Many Bugs, Do Not Buy

I have the card game (and it asks me to pay for this), so I tried the demo. I get paid to troubleshoot apps, games, and systems, so I can easily say this game is far from ready to be on the store (and far from ready to be purchased). Oh, and updates on Microsoft store don't have dates on them so I don't know when the game was updated last.

Pass and Play

I love the cardgame, backed the kickstarter, and bought an expansion. I bought this app when it said it had pass and play features, but upon first opening it there was no pass and play feature. I emailed them and complained. they instead of adding the feature they had advertised, they just removed their statement of pass and play from the store. No response, no refund, no apology for advertising something that doesn't exist, and was the entire reason I bought it. Not to mention all the bugs and whatnot, just don't get the app, buy the game.

Don't bother with this app.

this game freezes up so much it is a struggle to play at all. The real card game is amazing, so I would just go for that if you want to play this game.

It's Great

This card game is very unique, intelligent, simple and still brings a great deal of strategy. Admittedly, it is probably more RNG than other card games since even your Boss (deck master, w.e you want to call it) is also randomly given to you. So, competitive wise, you would need to be verse at playing the field rather than someone who is focusing on something. More people should spend the money to get the full version, which would make owning it even more rewarding the more that do. You can simply pick up the digital version and not need to worry about the physical cards unless you are a collector or want the second edition right now. The rules are simple but can be a little bit of a loop. This functions as a very good replica to the real thing.

Need more Online Players!

I love playing Boss Monster, with my physical editions and on this digital version. All the gameplay I love is there. Only two complaints, the online player base is very small. Unfortunately the same fate is the same for the Steam edition as well. Also, I would love to see the recently Boss Monster: The Next Level and the items from Tools of Hero Kind implemented. Would definitely buy a windows phone version if released as well.
