Surface Hub 2S

It's time to unbox your new surface Hub 2S. Unboxing is simple, but you'll want to be sure you have a colleague to help and have your mounting solution already assembled before you begin. We've designed the box for the surface Hub 2 to be easy to maneuver and transport. There are handles on each side of the box to help you move it from the moment of delivery to the space where you'll set it up. On the front and back of the box there are four clips, two on each side, which must be removed completely before opening. Once you've removed them, lift the top off the box using the handles to reveal your Surface Hub. While it may be tempting to immediately remove the Hub, be sure to open the accessories box located in the base. The accessories box contains the setup guide which covers the setup process. You'll also find the Surface Hub 2 Pen, Surface Hub 2 Camera, and the power cable. In the box for your mounting solution you'll find mounting hardware along with specific instructions. On the back of the Surface Hub, there's an instructional label showing you where to attach the mounting hardware. You can now install them in place and remove the label. If you're using a mobile stand, remember to lock the wheels so that it stays in place. Be sure to lift the Surface Hub with both hands and support the bottom of the device. Align the installed hardware with the slots on the mount so it rests firmly in place. Follow any further instructions that came with your mounting solution. Now you're ready to unwrap your Surface Hub 2 Pen and attach it magnetically to your preferred side of the device. Remove the lens cling from the camera and attach it to the USB-C port on the top of the surface Hub. Insert the power cable into the back of the device and plug it into a power outlet. At this stage you can run the cable through any cable guides on your mounting solution for a tidy, clean look. Now for the final step, just remove the screen wrap and now your Surface Hub 2S is fully assembled. To get started, just press the power button on the bottom-right and follow the instructions to complete the setup.

Microsoft Teams is really at the center of teamwork in Microsoft 365 and enables you to work with your colleagues in a more immersive way, wherever they are. With Microsoft Teams for Surface Hub, you have great calling and meeting capabilities. There are three ways you can use Microsoft Teams on Surface Hub 2S. First, if you have some work to do with a colleague and spontaneously want to use an available Surface Hub, you can start an ad hoc meeting. Just tap the call icon on the welcome screen, and from there you can either initiate a call with somebody who doesn't have Teams by using the dial pad, or start a Teams meeting by tapping “Meet Now.” Simply search for the people you want to invite and when you're ready, tap “Start Meeting.” The second way to take advantage of Teams is to book a Surface Hub by adding it as an attendee when you create a meeting in Teams or Outlook. If you're unsure of the account name for the Surface Hub, you can find it on the “Meet Now” screen. If you're setting up the meeting in Outlook, be sure to set it up as a Teams meeting. When it's time for your meeting, simply walk up to the Surface Hub, and with just one touch you're in the meeting. Your colleagues who have joined appear down the side, but if you'd like to see them in full life-like quality, you can tap here in the bottom right to enter full screen so you can have engaging face-to-face discussions. To exit full screen, just tap the same icon. You can switch the Microsoft Teams panel to the other side of the Hub with one tap. You'll see the familiar Teams icons. Here you can turn your camera on, mute your audio, and share your Surface Hub screens so that everyone in the meeting can see what you're looking at. When the meeting is started, Microsoft Whiteboard automatically opened to help you start collaborating by sharing your screen. Participants will be able to see your Whiteboard, but if you'd like to have a more collaborative session, tap the “Share Whiteboard” icon. You'll be prompted to sign in and then the shared Whiteboard will appear for all meeting participants and they can interact and contribute from right within Teams on any supported device. Finally, there may be times when you have a Teams meeting but didn't invite a Surface Hub. Joining that meeting is easy. Just tap “Sign-In” to see your meetings and files on the welcome screen, enter your work account information, and follow the steps to authenticate. Once you've completed signing in, the meeting carousel displays all of your Teams meetings and you can simply tap the one you'd like to join on the Surface Hub. Surface Hub lights up the Microsoft Whiteboard experience with a gorgeous large screen display and advanced inking capabilities. You can open the Whiteboard app from the welcome screen and jump right in. There are so many great features built into Whiteboard to help you create your content. In Settings, you have the ability to customize the background of your canvas, including different line options and colors. Speaking of color, there are also a variety of ink colors available and you can choose the appropriate pen thickness. Now you can enjoy the seamless inking experience of the Surface Hub 2 Pen. There are also some tools to help you structure your content - the ruler to assist you in drawing straight lines. In settings you can turn on ink to shape and ink the table. Now when you draw a shape, Whiteboard will perfect it for you. And if you want to create a table, for example, to capture action items out of a meeting, you simply start by drawing a rectangle, add some grid lines, and Whiteboard will recognize your intent. Now you can start to add content and the table will intelligently adjust to fit. When you sign in, you're able to access previously started whiteboards. This is game-changing for teamwork. With physical whiteboards, the best you can do is take a photo at the end of a meeting. But with the persistent digital whiteboard, you can pick up right where you left off and continue to add ideas. You can invite your colleagues to contribute to the whiteboard and they can add to it at anytime from anywhere on multiple devices from phones, to tablets, to laptops. No whiteboard would be complete without sticky notes. In Microsoft Whiteboard, you can add notes, change the color, and either type or ink on them and the content will move with the note. You can even group your notes into stacks to help categorize your ideas. You can swipe to flick through them or tap twice to expand. One of the most powerful features of Microsoft Whiteboard is the ability to convert images to ink using ink grab. Earlier we talked about photos of physical whiteboards. By tapping this button, you can make those photos usable again, the image is converted into ink, and you can keep adding to it. Let's say that you needed to insert an additional step into this flow diagram, you can use the lasso tool by holding down on the button on the Surface Hub 2 Pen select multiple items and then move them to create space for the new step. And if you're worried some of the ink isn't clear, you can select it and use the same icon as before to make it more legible thanks to the ink beautification feature.
