During this live, online, hands-on learning experience, built in an Azure environment, you will create robust, mission critical environments supporting automatic failover (to on-premises and to the cloud) and high availability with SQL Server 2017. Working together with the facilitator and other attendees, you will learn to use Azure Data Services (Azure SQL Database and Azure SQL Data Warehouse) to build out a cloud-based, scaled-out database capable of processing massive volumes of data, both relational and non-relational.

Manage your infrastructure on Azure
During this live, online, hands-on learning experience, built in an Azure environment, you will learn about Azure Virtual Machines and compute power. Working together with the trainer and other attendees, you’ll create and deploy a Windows Server datacenter virtual machine and review resource group, virtual network, and storage account components. The second part of the session will allow you to explore advanced virtual machine features including scale sets, ARM templates, and PowerShell management tools. This session is a great way for you to learn about Azure so you can solidify your hybrid strategy.
SQL Managed Instance

In this immersive experience, we invite you to become familiar with how to create an Azure SQL Database Managed Instance using the Azure Portal in a dedicated subnet of a virtual network. You will learn how to configure networks, security capabilities, and privacy capabilities of your Managed Instance. You will also understand how to size your MI, create disaster recovery protections, and manage & monitor security and performance tuning. After that, we’ll get into the details on how to migrate your SQL databases to a Azure SQL Database Managed Instance using the Azure Database Migration Service.

Experience hands-on how Azure functions enable the creation of event driven, compute-on-demand systems that can be triggered by various external events.
