Use Auto HDR for better gaming
Auto high dynamic range (HDR) can automatically enable a wider spectrum of colors and luminance, making your games come to life. 1
What is Auto HDR?
Auto HDR is a feature that automatically upgrades your DirectX 11 or DirectX 12 games from standard dynamic range (SDR) to HDR. In HDR games, the increased color range and brightness gives you a more detailed and immersive gaming experience on your Windows 11 PC.
Use Auto HDR intensity slider in Game Bar
The Auto HDR intensity slider lets you control how vivid and bright you want the colors in your game to be with Auto HDR.
- To open Game Bar you can use the shortcut Windows logo key
+ G. - To use the intensity slider, navigate to the Game Bar, then click the Settings button.
- Within Settings, click on the Gaming features section.
- Within that section you will see a button that says Adjust HDR Intensity.
- When you click on that button a pop-up window with an intensity slider will appear.
How to turn on Auto HDR
- Select Start , then enter settings. Select Settings > System > Display.
- If you have multiple displays, select your HDR-capable display at the top.
- Turn on Use HDR, then select More options (>).
- Turn on Auto HDR.
