The Visualization and Interaction for Business and Entertainment (VIBE) group conducts research in the areas of: artificial emotion intelligence (AEI), information visualization in machine learning and big data; and human-computer interaction (HCI) in software engineering.

The VIDA Group focuses on a human-centric approach to working with data, exploring areas such as data visualization, communicating with data, the creation of tools for working with data, immersive analytics, and interaction and understanding of machine learning models.

The Microsoft Research Redmond Lab’s Central Engineering Team develops software and hardware technologies and components based on Microsoft Research innovations.

The Human-Computer Interaction Group (HCI@MSR) comprises a world-renowned, interdisciplinary team of research scientists, engineers, and designers who take a user-centered approach to developing, designing, and studying computing technology and its use.
