Fueling innovation with Azure AI solutions

DeepBrain AI, a trailblazing AI company, is revolutionizing various industries with its cutting-edge technologies. It began in 2016 as a chatbot service, hoping to help organizations streamline and optimize operations across several business use cases, such as implementing chatbots in call centers. By 2018, DeepBrain AI developed an early prototype of its AI avatars. By 2019, it enabled voice synthesis capabilities for its solutions, and then continued to make significant advances in its AI avatar capabilities over the course of the following few years. Fast forward to 2022, when large language models (LLMs) came to market. LLMs, powered by the Azure platform, enabled DeepBrain AI to add even more powerful capabilities to its technology.

The current product portfolio includes DeepBrain AI Avatar, a library of photo-realistic and virtual avatars that businesses can use for training videos, news broadcasts, marketing videos, and more. It also includes DeepBrain AI Human, which allows users to interact with a photo-realistic AI avatar that serves multiple roles, including an AI retailer, AI banker, AI tutor, and more. DeepBrain AI Studios is a text-to-video solution that enables users to input a video topic and generate a video with a photo-realistic avatar narrator—all within minutes. As another part of this extensive AI portfolio, DeepBrain AI Interview enables organizations to record one-on-one interviews between a job candidate and AI avatar to expedite the initial interview process. All of these solutions use the industry-leading capabilities of Azure OpenAI Service and Azure Cognitive Services—giving customers access to AI solutions that will prove to be part of the next wave of innovative offerings. Many recognizable brands have already taken advantage of this AI technology, including Lenovo and SK Telecom.

Azure OpenAI Service is a cloud-based AI platform that has helped DeepBrain AI push the boundaries of AI capabilities. “Prior to the development of Large Language Models, we would have to manually update our chatbots and language services. Now, with the power of Azure OpenAI Service, we can cut down on development time and eliminate many manual processes,” says Michael Jung, Chief Financial Officer of DeepBrain AI. DeepBrain AI harnesses the vast computational capabilities offered by Azure OpenAI Service to process and analyze massive amounts of data more efficiently. This collaboration empowers DeepBrain AI to build sophisticated deep learning models and train them on extensive datasets, leading to breakthroughs in natural language processing (NLP), computer vision, and other AI domains.

Using Azure Cognitive Services speech capabilities, DeepBrain AI develops state-of-the-art NLP models. By integrating this solution into its AI infrastructure, DeepBrain AI can perform language translation and create AI avatars that have exceptional language understanding and translation capabilities. This collaboration enables DeepBrain AI to maintain accurate, efficient NLP solutions that can be seamlessly integrated into various industries, including retail, customer service, finance, education, and more. “We tested several speech-to-text engines before going with Azure Cognitive Services, as none of the other options could deliver accuracy as high as Azure Cognitive Services did, which really took our offering to the next level,” says Jung.

Supporting scalability and efficiency with Azure Kubernetes Service

To enhance scalability and efficiency, DeepBrain AI integrated AKS into its AI infrastructure. AKS provides a managed container orchestration service that automates the deployment, scaling, and management of containerized applications. This integration makes it easy to scale AI workloads, dynamically allocate computing resources, and ensure high availability across all applications. With AKS serverless functionality, developers can iterate quickly, save time and effort on managing infrastructure, and bring innovative solutions to market faster.

Accelerating growth through partnership and Azure Marketplace

DeepBrain AI was selected for the Microsoft for Startups Founders Hub Pegasus Program in the retail sector as an innovative technology company. This program helps startups with product-market fit to meet new customers, build new services, and scale their offerings. Through the Pegasus Program, Microsoft provided in-depth go-to-market support that was instrumental in helping DeepBrain AI secure additional funding and bring its solutions to a global audience. “To us, Microsoft represented more than a service provider—they were a partner. And with them as a partner, we knew we could accelerate our growth as a company,” says Jung. The program also provided USD250,000 in Azure credits, which were essential in helping pay for graphic processing unit (GPU) and central processing unit (CPU) consumption and in deploying DeepBrain AI’s solution in the Azure cloud platform.

DeepBrain AI was also given the opportunity to cross-sell and co-sell with Azure. Through the Azure Marketplace, DeepBrain AI can take advantage of native integrations with Azure technologies and sell solutions globally—gaining a higher level of exposure than ever before. Lead generation coming through the Azure Marketplace has provided the company with a valuable revenue stream and helped get its product in front of the customers who need it the most. The partnership between DeepBrain AI and Azure has led to significant benefits for all involved. “Choosing Azure wasn’t just about utilizing the best AI services available today. The teams at Azure really made us feel like we were a valued partner,” says Jung.

Shaping the future of AI

The partnership between DeepBrain AI and Azure holds immense promise for the future of AI technology. With access to Azure's state-of-the-art tools and resources, DeepBrain AI continues to push the boundaries of what’s possible in AI development. The company’s groundbreaking innovations in NLP, computer vision, and other AI domains guide the way for transformative applications across various industries. As this collaboration continues to evolve, DeepBrain AI and Azure are poised to shape the future of AI by driving advancements that will enhance human lives and transform businesses around the world.
