Microsoft announces close of DATAllegro acquisition and reveals product integration roadmap
Last week, Microsoft closed the acquisition of DATAllegro, a provider of large-volume, high-performance data warehouse appliances. Since conversations started months ago, everyone involved has helped move the deal forward efficiently and we are now looking forward to integrating the DATAllegro capabilities with Microsoft SQL Server. There has been a lot of excitement and support for this relationship, which is great news for SQL Server customers.
Some highlights of our plans moving forward include:
- Extend data warehousing capabilities offered by SQL Server
- Provide individuals, teams, and organizations with BI solutions that drive bottom line performance and operational excellence
- Early access for customers and partners to the combined solution through Community Technology Previews (CTPs) within the next 12 months
- Full product availability scheduled for the first half of calendar year 2010
Detailed plans for integration of DATAllegro with SQL Server will be shared at the 2nd annual Microsoft BI Conference, October 6-8 in Seattle, WA. Customers and partners in attendance will receive information on the latest business strategy, product information, Microsoft team interaction, implementation best practices and deep customer insights into Microsoft BI products.
