Downgrade from previous arc mouse

The issue I have with this mouse is the right click function. Unfortunately to right click you must lift off your left finger, otherwise it only registers a left click. This means you cannot rest your finger on the mouse. If you need a travel mouse to simply browse the internet while traveling this mouse will probably work; however, if you need to right click often I would pass on this one. I have the previous generation arc mouse for my work surface pro 4 and it works better than this one and is cheaper (and just as portable). Seriously considering returning this one for the previous generation.

Right Click issues

The mouse generally works and feels great to the hand, but the ability to Right Click is very limited and only seems to work in the far upper right corner of the mouse.

Note: a) For those missing the middle click: it can be simply be attributed to the 3-finger click. b) For the left click, both fingers can rest on the surface of the mouse and you can click anywhere; for the right-click just lift the left finger slightly and click right.

Great if you don't need to right click ever

The biggest issue is the lack of right click ability with this mouse. Left and scroll seem to work fine and I have to do a trial and error method every time I want to right click something. It doesn't work in the same spot each time which is very frustrating because it will think I intended to left click. Sleek design, but I'd rather have a more robust mouse and the ability to right click.

need serious improvement

This is a beautiful product but needs a lots of improvement. Like everyone else is saying, the right click has problem. And there is no middle click function. The scrolling function just not where I want it to be.

Lackluster mouse in sexy package

PROS: Nice hand fit, light, folding mechanism is great for storage and it turns off battery when folded. Glides well. This will be a good vacation mouse. CONS: Clicking takes too much pressure, scrolling is half baked: I must swipe 4 times to get two good scrolls. Wakes up my surface when I don't want it to, causing battery drain (no way to disable that in mouse driver..why??) Also, with its trackpad-like surface I'd hoped it would support taps as well as clicks - such as double tap = right mouse click.

Great except right-click restrictions

Because of decades of using two-button mice, I keep two fingers on the mouse. As mentioned in another review, in order to right-click, I have to lift my index finger off the mouse completely. Otherwise, the click is registered as a left-click, even if clicking on the right side of the mouse. I'd hope that a driver update can cause click location detection to take priority over the presence of a second finger on the mouse. Otherwise the mouse is smooth and sleek. I've been using the previous versions of the Arc for the better part of a decade and have been happy with them. I suspect that I will (unfortunately) get used to having to lift my left finger to right click, but will hope that Microsoft decides to make this behavior more natural soon instead.

I like it!!!

I like this mouse! I previously had an Arc Touch with an SP4. This new one has more reliable scrolling as the prior one could stop scrolling when connected for a long time. I appreciate the addition of horizontal scrolling and being able to assign the middle click is great - if you want a dedicated 'Back' button for browser use, assign it to 'middle' (a three finger click). Or use to open Cortana or Settings or execute commands like Copy, Ctrl, Alt - or assign a custom set of keystroke shortcuts or run a macro. I'm trying to work out how to use it to open and close the Magnify function in lens view but haven't worked that out yet. You can also modify the scrolling directions and distances. For reviews that sound like they own a different device, I suspect they haven't downloaded Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Centre from microsoft.com/accessories/downloads/mouse-keyboard-center which allows customization of the mouse! On top of all that, it is elegant and glides effortlessly.

Not What I Expected

I've been looking for a mouse to compliment my Surface Book which I purchased in January. There are a few pros to this mouse: I do travel for business and loved how this folded flat and would fit nicely in my computer bag. I love the fast, seamless Bluetooth connectivity and not having to take up one of the USB drives in order for the mouse to work. I didn't mind the click button and had no issues with scrolling/clicking as some reviewers did. I really liked the almost seamless, clean construction and the mouse felt very high quality. When it came down to it, the mouse was not as comfortable as I expected for $80. I have smaller hands and the arch was just too high and not very ergonomic. I couldn't find a comfortable place for my thumb. I also thought the mouse was a little too wide. I think the older versions are a little bit narrower (and cheaper). I just don't think it was worth the $80 + tax for a mouse I don't love. Try in store before you buy.

Awesome Product

Just got mine today from BB. Got it light grey and it looks and feels super nice. I was coming from the arc touch surface edition which i really had major problems with the bluetooth. So far excellent with this one not one disconnect. It feels better in the hand as it comes up higher in your hand giving you a feel of relaxation for long term users. The only reason I did not give it a 5 star is because I would of loved for this mouse to also pair with my mac because I also run my mac as well as my windows 10 simoutanously. Well maybe next time or maybe it can come out on a upgrade.
