BrowserModifier:Win32/OneStepSearch.C

BrowserModifier:Win32/OneStepSearch.C is the detection for a program that may be installed with other software. It runs as a service in the background and automatically adds itself as a Search provider in Internet Explorer.

 

It may be installed with other executable files in a subfolder of the Program Files folder. It modifies the user's browser to deliver targeted advertisements when the user enters search parameters to redirect results to "seekeen.com".
 
It may also replace or override browser error pages that would otherwise be displayed when unresolvable web addresses are entered into the browser's address bar.

 

As of this writing, only the DLL component is available for analysis. This program may perform other functions, which cannot be completely determined at this time.
