This threat can steal your personal information and lower your PC security settings.
It can be installed on your PC through network shares or infected removable drives, such as a USB flash drives.

Use the following free Microsoft software to detect and remove this threat:
- Microsoft Defender Antivirus for Windows 8.1 and Windows 10, or Microsoft Security Essentials for Windows 7 and Windows Vista
- Microsoft Safety Scanner
- Microsoft Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool
You should also run a full scan. A full scan might find hidden malware.

To restore your PC, you might need to download and run Windows Defender Offline.
Enable registry editor
This threat might prevent Registry Editor from running. To allow the Registry Editor to run, follow these steps:
- Click Start then Run and type cmd to run a command prompt.
- In the command prompt, type the following and press Enter:
reg.exe add HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System /v DisableRegistryTools /t REG_DWORD /d 0 /f - Type exit.
Use cloud protection
Use cloud protection to help guard against the latest malware threats. It’s turned on by default for Microsoft Security Essentials and Windows Defender for Windows 10.
Go to All settings > Update & security > Windows Defender and make sure that your Cloud-based Protection settings is turned On.
