Matthew Balkwill is a Principal Software Development Engineer in Azure For Operators, based in Cambridge, UK. His technical expertise is in wireless networking, particularly 5G, LTE and NFV.
Prior to working for Microsoft Research, Matthew worked in industry for over 20 years, with his main focus on the development of wireless test products, and also the development of wireless small (FemTo) cells. He has vast experience of stack development and was a technical leader for the LTE Layer 2 protocol stack development for a number of companies.
