Dropped out of college after sophomore year and became an interior decorator.
Once lived in an Encino, CA, mansion that was built by Al Jolson in the 1930s.
Made her big-screen debut as a Vulcan officer in 1982's Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan.
When she won her Emmy for Cheers in 1991, she famously thanked her then-husband, Parker Stevenson, for giving her "the big one."
Received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1995.
