We believe economic growth and opportunity must reach every person, organization, community, and country. This starts with ensuring everyone has the skills to thrive in a digital, AI-enabled economy, and extends to empowering nonprofits, entrepreneurs, and other organizations to digitally transform and address society’s biggest challenges.
To create positive impact with technology, people must be able to trust the technologies they use and the companies behind them. That’s why we’re committed to the responsible use of AI, protecting privacy, and advancing digital safety and cybersecurity.
Protect fundamental rights
In an increasingly digital world, we have a responsibility to protect people’s fundamental rights, address the challenges technology creates, and help all communities succeed. For us, this means promoting responsible business practices, expanding accessibility and connectivity, advancing fair and inclusive societies, and empowering communities.
Climate change is the defining issue of our generation, and addressing it requires swift, collective action and technological innovation. We are committed to meeting our own goals while enabling others to do the same. That means taking responsibility for our operational footprint and accelerating progress through technology.

Brad Smith, Vice Chair and President of Microsoft
Helping everyone build skills for success
Demand for cybersecurity professionals is growing and the opportunity for women in the field is huge. We partner with organizations like CyberShikshaa to help develop an inclusive cyber workforce and close the skills gap around the world.
Inside the fight against hackers
To combat hackers’ misuse of a powerful IT security tool, Microsoft and Fortra partnered up to seize, block, and disrupt infrastructure linked to “cracked” versions of the tool. The number of cracked Cobalt Strike servers detected per day has declined by 25%.
The future of work is neurodiverse
Neurodivergent job-seekers encounter significant barriers when applying for a job. Mentra’s AI evaluates over 76 data points into a single application which then uses AI recommendations to connect them with potential employers.
Laying the foundation for buildings of tomorrow
Embodied carbon is responsible for 8% of global GHG, yet reducing or eliminating embodied carbon from concrete and steel is difficult. Microsoft is piloting new concrete mixes at our Quincy, WA datacenter, with a goal to lower embodied carbon in concrete by more than 50%.
Partnering for greater impact
We activate resources from across our business and our ecosystem to drive progress faster and farther than we could on our own.
Leading with transparency
Our Reports Hub provides a single, consolidated view of key reports and resources related to our programs and progress.
