Top questions

  • The Microsoft Workplace Discount Program allows employees at eligible companies to buy an annual subscription of Microsoft 365 Family or Microsoft 365 Personal at a discount for use on personal devices.
  • The Microsoft Home Use Program (also known as HUP) is now the Microsoft Workplace Discount Program. Any previously purchased discounted products are not affected by the change in the program name. You’ll continue to receive discounted rates on qualified subscriptions if you keep auto-renewal turned on.

  • Yes. Enter your corporate email on the Microsoft Workplace Discount Program page to see if you qualify. If you don’t have a corporate email, please contact your IT department for questions about eligibility.
    1.  Sign Up: Visit the Microsoft Workplace Discount Program page. Enter your corporate email address. Click on ‘Get Started’ button.

    2. Confirm: If you are eligible, an email will be sent to your corporate email address inbox with a link that will validate your eligibility for the program.

    3. Sign In: Once your eligibility is confirmed and you register for the program with your personal Microsoft account that is associated with your personal email address, you can begin the purchase process by viewing the discounts available to you based on your Workplace Discount Program benefit eligibility.

    4. Shop: Your purchase is processed and completed in the Microsoft Store. You, the eligible employee, can install Microsoft 365 on your personal devices after the purchase is complete. Once you have purchased Microsoft 365 Family, you can share your subscription with up to 5 additional members of your household.
  • Yes. If you already have Microsoft 365 Family or Microsoft 365 Personal, you can still take advantage of this discount. Once you purchase, additional time is added to your existing subscription, and the discounted rate will begin at your existing subscription’s annual renewal date. Be sure to specify the Microsoft account that’s associated with your current Microsoft 365 subscription during the purchase process.
  • If you have Microsoft 365 through the Workplace Discount Program, the discount continues to apply as long as you maintain recurring billing on your subscription.
  • Workplace Discount Program discounts on Visio Professional 2024 and Project Professional 2024 are only available if your employer's Workplace Discount Program administrator has selected you for one or more product specific discounts.

Please make sure you are signed in to the Microsoft Store with your personal account associated with the Workplace Discount Program in order to view the discounted price of the products.

If you expected to see a discount on these products please contact your organization’s Workplace Discount Program benefit administrator. Typically, the Workplace Discount Program is managed by your organization’s benefits coordinator, HR or IT departments.

  • Discounts on select Microsoft 365 subscriptions are offered to eligible companies worldwide with these exceptions:

Belarus, Cuba, Iran, Lebanon, Macao, Mauritania, North Korea, Russia, Syria and Venezuela: this offer will not be available in these markets.

China and Hong Kong: a 1-year subscription for Microsoft 365 Family and Microsoft 365 Personal are available in these markets. For China, visit the China Workplace Discount Program site. For Hong Kong, visit the Hong Kong Workplace Discount Program site.

  • In some cases, company network settings or firewall rules may block access to parts of the Workplace Discount Program eligibility flow. This can result in errors such as pages not loading or “page not found” messages when you try to continue your sign-up.

This is more likely to occur if you are:

    • Using a work device

    • Connected to your company’s network or VPN

    • Accessing the eligibility email directly from your work email on a corporate system

To complete the eligibility process, try the following:

    • Forward the “You’re eligible for the Workplace Discount Program” email from your work account to your personal email

    • Open the email on a personal device (such as a home computer or mobile phone)

    • Complete the sign-up process from a non-work network (for example, your home Wi-Fi)

This workaround helps bypass company firewall restrictions and allows you to complete your purchase successfully. If you continue to experience issues, you may need to contact your organization’s IT administrator or Microsoft Support for further assistance.
