About

Nathan Evans is a Principal Software Architect leading engineering for the Social Resilience team within Microsoft Research Special Projects. Additional focus areas at MSR include scalable visualization and interactions for text, graphs, and multi-dimensional datasets. His work emphasizes deployment on web architectures for cross-platform portability and distributed computing.

Prior to Microsoft, Nathan served as CTO for a software consultancy specializing in web visualization and workflows for government intelligence, intellectual property, and naval logistics. Nathan has also performed extensive research on the restoration and management of coastal nearshore ecosystems with a combination of field studies and remote sensing.
